I was reminded today about the kindness of God. Scott and I have a sweet dog named Enoch. My sister Brittany last night reminded me that he is one of those special ones, and I have to agree. Enoch is so ecstatic about the cold weather sweeping into the hill country and the living room where I’m working this morning is reverberating from the thumps of him hitting the wood floor as he throws the tennis ball to himself and then scampers to get it. This Japanese black and white Sheba Inu exudes joy. If joy is something animals can truly participate in, Enoch does.
And what’s so precious about my dog – is that Enoch was hit head on by a car less than two weeks ago. Scott and I watched as a car and my little 20-pound dog collided and we both thought – ‘he’s dead.’ And today my playful Enoch is bounding before me. And I’m reminded about the good things God has given to us. Scott and I both adore this little creature – he’s our buddy. And I’m thankful this morning that he’s still our little buddy. We named Enoch after the Old Testament friend of God that never died. And I think the name fits.
Enoch was adopted from the St Louis Humane Society in March 2009.
